Andy Poncia

Andy Poncia

Andy Poncia is a fourth-generation dairy rancher and the founder of Poncia Fertilizer, Inc., a leading agricultural waste management and composting company serving the Sonoma-Marin region for more than 30 years. Starting his business at age 22, Poncia built a trusted operation specializing in manure handling, compost production, and agricultural byproduct recycling for dairies, vineyards, wineries, breweries, municipalities, and fairs.

Widely respected for his work ethic and can-do attitude, Poncia plays a vital role in closing the loop between the region’s dairies and vineyards by transforming manure, straw, grape pomace, and other organic byproducts into high-quality, locally produced compost. His company operates year-round with a seasonal workforce of up to 50 employees and has grown entirely through word-of-mouth.

A dedicated supporter of agriculture, Poncia is an active member of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau and a longtime advocate for 4-H and FFA. He and his wife Lisa raised their three children in the business, continuing a family tradition rooted in hard work, community, and a deep commitment to farming.

Andy has added an Xact Model 1060 to his operation, intended as the first of several units. This addition will allow him to more efficiently produce a consistent, designer compost.

regenera tu suelo

regenera tu suelo

Soil is a vast ecosystem with extensive biology; let's treat it accordingly to achieve fertile soil.

We can reduce and regenerate degraded soils, increasing yields and also improving the damage to the environment by reducing atmospheric CO2.

Reduce or eliminate chemical fertilization and pesticide application. Opt for sustainable agriculture.

BIOCOMPOST

BIOCOMPOST

We manufacture the machine in seven sizes. The smallest handles 9 m3 and is suitable for, for example, smaller horse farms. The largest is 18 meters long and can handle up to 30m3 per day. It is ideal for waste facilities with large flows of biological material. In between there is a bucket that means we have a compost drum for every operation.

Landfilling and incineration are some of today's unsustainable solutions for managing organic waste that have a negative impact on the environment. Biocompost systems outperform conventional composting with so-called stukos by controlling sanitation and eliminating odors, pathogens and weeds. This enables the production of high-quality fertilizers and soil improvement products.

XACT CIRCLE

Xact Circle transforms toxic olive industry waste into high-quality precision compost.
Using advanced in-vessel mechanical composting and targeted bacterial cultivation, we convert this hazardous waste stream into stable, fertile compost in as little as 48 hours.

We focus specifically on olive residues because they are classified as phytotoxic. Strict environmental regulations require this waste to be separated from other organic streams, resulting in large, homogenous stockpiles with consistent composition — the ideal raw material for producing a predictable, high-performance end product.

By integrating Xact’s controlled in-vessel composting systems, Circle achieves full process control over temperature, aeration, moisture, and retention time. This eliminates the variability typically associated with traditional windrow composting and allows for precise microbial management.

Precision compost is a proven tool for maintaining yields and accelerating soil regeneration, particularly for growers transitioning away from synthetic fertilizers. However, widespread adoption has been limited by inconsistent quality and lack of processing control.

Today, many farmers rely on variable traditional compost that requires costly synthetic corrections to stabilize nutrients and performance. Through mechanically controlled processing of naturally homogenous olive residues, Xact Circle delivers a guaranteed, consistent precision compost product — making regenerative soil management reliable, scalable, and commercially viable for modern agriculture.

Biopolus

Biopolus

By combining the intelligence of humans and nature, Biopolus is engineering urban ecosystems to close water, energy, food, and waste loops through a network of decentralized urban metabolic hubs. A new class of buildings will house these hubs for urban circularity.

Through smart, functional engineering and design, Biopolus has created the BioMakery, a biofactory for the future city. The BioMakery is powered by Biopolus MNR technology, which uses biological engineering to harness clean water, energy, nutrients, and minerals from wastewater and organic waste. Supplemental modules for community functions and urban farming, can also be added to create an open and integrated space for sustainable urban living.
