Composter automates rotating drum operation with the newly automated PLC Control Panel with Soft Touch Screen by XACT Systems. The user friendly soft touch screen on the front of the control panel was designed for the BioReactor Composting System in order to give the operator easy access to a wide variety of critical data. Data which is vital to the successful composting of solid organic waste.
Although composting is not a complicated process it is a fairly precise process in terms of balancing the few factors that impact it. The control panel has been developed to provide more accurate monitoring of these factors to ensure the best results. A quick reminder as to what those few factors are: Carbon-Nitrogen ratio, moisture content, oxygen, operating temperatures, and particle size. For a more detailed description of the parameters for successful composting, please follow this link to the XACT Composting System website page describing them.
In addition, the data collected from the monitoring can be sent to the operator’s cell phone or computer 24/7. By making the data “portable”, the operator can be tracking the BioReactor’s operation while eating lunch!
These added features compound the benefits that the XACT BioReactor System already has.

The Soft Touch Screen on the PLC Control Panel allows for easy access to data such as processing temperature, starting/stopping, correct loading (capacity), door opening/closing and more!
Composting Rotating Drum Technology by XACT Systems Inc. has been chosen by BioKamp Co. in Bulgaria. This is great news! We are looking forward to working with our new Bulgarian partners as they embark on a new business venture in the organic waste
BioKamp Bulgaria are new partners of XACT Systems Inc. of Canada. BioKamp is excited to now have the excellent BioReactor- a compositing rotating drum technology – to manufacture and market in the Bulgarian market where there are big opportunities. Welcome aboard gentlemen!
management sector in their country. BioKamp now has rights to manufacture and market the BioReactor Composting System by XACT. The composting rotating drum technology (known as the BioReactor) measured up exactly to the needs of BioKamp. To begin, the Bulgarian company will target the biosolid (biosludge) management industry. Of course, the BioReactor can and is composting many types of organic waste–from food waste to dairy manure. Indeed, BioKamp has every intention to reach out all sectors with this new and innovative waste management solution.
Better organic waste management and diverting waste from landfills is a serious problem worldwide. What to do? Well, the composting rotating drum technology by XACT Systems is proving its worth in many countries around the globe. It is an effective, sustainable and common sense solution to dealing with organic waste.
Please check out this video of the BioReactor in order to better understand the rotational aspect of this in vessel composting technology. Then, consider the possibilities for your company. Many many thanks.

Advanced composting technology such as the BioReactor can produce compost that is virtually odor-free.
Composting multiple organic waste streams separately is no big deal. Do so with a very small footprint and in just 6-7 days–so now there is something to talk about! This is all possible with the BioReactor Composting Technology by XACT Systems.
Two full size BioReactors are composting 2 waste streams at an integrated processing plant. The 3rd smaller BioReactor is processing other waste streams on a trial basis.
This installation is operating with 3 BioReactors in order to quickly compost multiple waste streams (slaughterhouse sludge, hatchery waste, wood chips). 2 of the composters are permanently situated and each is composting a different organic waste. The smaller third composter is temporarily in place to conduct trials of various other organic waste streams. As you can see, these vessels are housed under a single roof. The land requirement for this composting system is pretty small compared to other methods of composting which would require a large acreage to compost the same amount of waste.
The BioReactor is an in vessel rotating drum that provides the perfect environment for the composting process to take place which means that the composting process happens very, very fast. Small Land Requirement: These larger 2 units are 10′ x 60′ (3m x 18m). Heat: The continual rotation of the BioReactor controls the temperatures of the composting process in optimal range. Oxygen: Plus, ALL the tumbling waste material is exposed to the oxygen in the air at all times, so decomposition process is completely aerobic. Capacity: The BioReactors can process large volumes of waste per day…in this case each vessel is processing 22 tons per day.
This Composting Facility with the BioReactor Composting System and curing area is located in Brazil.
Composting multiple organic waste streams separately? No big deal–so please get in touch by phone (613-399-5686) or email to learn more!

What advice would you give someone who is starting up a new composting operation? Assuming all the permitting and funding are in place, there are still challenges in the running of the site that will have to be dealt with. For my part, the best advice I would give is to choose the XACT BioReactor technology because it eliminates or minimizes most of the remaining challenges of the composting process such as:
Plus, get the C:N ratio and the moisture right, and in 4 to 7 days, the BioReactor makes great compost! Because of this, typically, the BioReactor will pay for itself in under 3 years making in one of the best investments in the industry today! This bit of advice, if taken, will get you started in the right direction. XACT Systems does more than supply equipment, we support you from the very start to be successful in the business of composting. Chose wisely my friend.
Are you frustrated with the tremendous amount of organic waste created in our communities along with the persistent total lack of creativity in ways of disposing of it? Perhaps the answer to this problem can be found in the wisdom of 2 ideas. 1) Think Globally, Act Locally. 2) Grassroots Action. At XACT Systems, where I work, we offer a composting system that will allow you to take action now with an environmentally and economically viable system – on a extremely small footprint – handling the amount of waste per day that you need to – odor control up the wazoo – within the confines of your community. At the core of the system is the BioReactor which converts organic waste into compost NOW. Your concern is our concern and that is why the XACT BioReactor was created….to be part of the solution. I would be very grateful, if you would take a look at this system when you get a free minute. Many thanks. D
Site Layout for 2 Waste Streams and 4 BioReactors.
A composting facility design using 4 XACT BioReactors accommodates 2 different waste streams. In this situation, the waste streams are biosolids and mixed solid organics. Note the building in the foreground which has a wall dividing the tipping floor which keeps the waste streams separate. The 2 vessels on the left compost one type of waste while the 2 on the right compost the other waste stream. In this case, the discharged compost needed to stored for a period of time so it is automatically conveyed into the building in the background for that purpose. One of the requirements of this facility being built is this jurisdiction was that there be odor control technology included. Therefore there are 2 biofilters: one services the waste receiving building and the other services all the drums. If you are thinking about how to design your composting facility, please give us a call. The design possibilities know no limits. Thanks so much for your time and consideration. Doreen
